The results of the Scholastic Presidential Election Poll, open to students in grades 1 through 12, are in, and it’s official: Barack Obama captured 57% of the vote, to John McCain’s 39%.

Since its inception in 1940, the Scholastic poll results have mirrored the outcome of the general election all but twice. If this trend holds, not only are things looking good for Obama come November; Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers can expect a healthy percentage of the write-in vote.
